Certification

Currently three nurses from the Central Canadian Chapter have
promoted the highest standards of Dermatology Nursing and
possess the credentials " Dermatology Nurse Certified", (DNC).

What is Certification?
Certification is an award for those who have successfully completed
the certification process by meeting the eligibility criteria and passed
the exam. Certification is valid for three (3) years. Recertification may be attained through continuing education hours or examination.

Why should I become certified?
To attain the designation of DNC demonstrates that you have acquired a core body of specialized knowledge and adhere to specialized nursing standards. The Dermatology Nursing Certification Board (DNCB) is a member of the American Board of Nursing Specialties. All Canadian nurses who successfully pass the exam are allowed to use the credentials DNC following their name.

How do I learn more about becoming certified?
Grants are offered at the yearly national meetings for those
wishing to write the exam. The DNA's core curriculum book
includes much of the knowledge needed to become certified.
